ziggycardon 691 Report post Posted June 19 I just recieved this book in the mail! It's the Princeton Field Guide to Prehistoric Mammals, I already had the Princeton Field Guide to Dinosaurs which is one of my favorite books on paleontology, so I decided to get this one as well. A little not though, this book is very different than the Dinosaur field guide but book definiatly does not disappoint
MrR 60 Report post Posted June 21 I have been wanting a Chubutensis tooth for a few months now, but was having no luck winning any auctions at that auction site. Finally, one popped up that I liked, and I stepped up. While not perfect, due to one chip, it is in very nice shape overall. Great root, bourlette, color, and serrations. It also has the surface ripples in the cusplets on the labial side. Rightly or wrongly, if I didn't see those ripples, it wasn't convincing enough (as a Chub) for me. There seem to be a lot being sold as Chubs that look more Meg to my newbie eyes. Anyway, here's an image of the lingual side of the little 2 3/4" gem of a Chub-chopper. Cheers. I happen to have one gathering dust so was happy to put up a trade. I sent him a few others I had duplicates of and he "responded in kind". These are the items he sent me from various locations around New York, Texas and Oklahoma. From New York: Deep Springs Road, Cole Hill Road, Briggs Road, Beecher Beds, Larry's Quarry Brachiopods from Lake Erie, New York Brachiopods and rolled trilobite from Leon's Quarry, Oklahoma Thank you again Al! There are some beautiful pieces here. WOW! That really is a great package, but I know you would have sent an equally marvelous one in return.

Jaimin013 824 Report post Posted June 27 I received this Liopleurodon Ferox tooth a few days ago. The tooth originates from the Volga beds of the Moscow basin in Russia. The tooth is just under 4 inches in size but it's probably one of the best condition pliosaur teeth that I have seen. It's incredibly rare to find one of the condition in this size as well. hemipristis 222 Report post Posted June 28 Green River Diplomystus' dying movement.... I already have a pair of nice Diplos, but the associated coprolite sealed this online deal for me
hemipristis 222 Report post Posted June 28 Miocene gomp molar from Bosnia. The seller was offering several on an online forum. I missed out on the plate with 2 (3?) premolars, but got the best of the individual teeth here. Tooth crown complete, it even comes with a bit of jawbone underneath. Nifty manganese dendrites in spots, too.
gigantoraptor 1,690 Report post Posted June 28 Yesterday I got a package (what was kinda weird because I wasn't expecting one at the moment), with this trilobite in it. It's labelled Phacops sp. but I'll have another very similar trilobite from the same location that's labelled Boeckops stelcki. Seems it was a present from my grandparents for my succesfull end of High school.

connorp 456 Report post Posted June 29 I was looking for Flexicalymene rollers on our favorite auction site and came across a “North American trilobite which is likely Flexicalymene.” Very happy with the Moroccan Hollardops I got for $1.25! The prep is terrible but who cares for that price.
