bluefish1766
Hi all My son and I found this small (1 cm) tooth from Post Oak Creek in Sherman, TX, and are trying to identify it, if possible. Our best guess is a fish tooth (maybe Pachyrhizodus or Xiphactinus) or a small mosasaur tooth. There is a small ridge running lengthwise down the tooth, and the tooth base is oval with a central canal. Thanks!
Troodon
Nice find. I'm not familiar with the fauna from this area, hopefully this bump will flag some local collector will chime in. I'll throw out this as a flyer it's a fresh water reptile called Champsosaurus. This image is one from the Hell Creek Fm, different species have been found in Texas but not really familiar with them. Food for thought
