Mazon Creek, Pit 11, Fossil ID's

CBOB

Recommended Posts

I was able to get out one day this March and collect some Mazon Creek nodules from Pit 11.  I found all these as they were and all of them were weird enough to keep.  Any help with ID's on any of them?  Even if some aren't fossils I thought they were at least unique compared to the many solid dud nodules you find with the freeze/thaw process.  Thanks!

I would imagine that some are just mineral staining, and some may be something that was too far gone when it fossilized or didn''t fossilize properly?

Wait for more of the Mazon guy's opinions, though. ;)

Can you take pictures of #6 at different angles?    Some features look interesting.

Ever hear someone say "I didn't find {poop}" when they came back from hunting (fossils, animals, etc)? Well, you did! :yay-smiley-1:

Yes , I would agree.

it appears that you have discovered conclusive evidence of the fabled Mazon Creek outhouse.
