JBGood
This (uncleaned...sorry) fossil comes from Kope Formation shale in Northern Ky Rt.445 and Rt. 8. I'm thinking it is Prasopora sp.? What do you think?

Kane
Interesting piece, but it may need some clean up to get more diagnostic detail. Prasopora sp. is a very good guess judging by this image. I do know that Prasopora simulatrix is reported in the Kope. See: Marintsch, J. (1981). "Taxonomic Reevaluation of Prasopora simulatrix Ulrich (Bryozoa: Trepostomata). Journal of Paleontology 55(5): 957-61. You might also find useful a USGS report on bryozoa distribution: Karklins, Olgerts L. "Bryozoa fauna of the upper Clays Ferry, Kope, and lower Fairview Formations (Edenian, Upper Ordovician) at Moffett Road, northern Kentucky." This one seems to mention Prasopora in relation to Aspidora. LINK 2 ...How to Philosophize with a Hammer

JBGood
I think it is: Ordovician suborder Halloporina: Prasopora (Nicholson) "forms hemispherical, dome shaped colonies. Apertures are sub-polygonal. Prasopora has been found in Ordovician rocks in Ohio." Bulletin 70 Fossils of Ohio. 1996 I will post better photos after I clean it up a bit. JBGood
Update: just got a response from Cincinnati DryDredgers who think it may be Prasopora but it also might be an "anemone burrow"?!
