netosols
Hi! I'm new here! I need some help to ID some fossils I've found a couple of days ago. Thanks!!!
ynot
Welcome to TFF! Nice grouping of finds. It would help Us to give better information if You would tell Us where they were found and take pictures from more than one side. If there is more than one object in the post it also helps if You number them so We can tell what is which. (1a, 1b - 2a, 2b etc.). Regards, Tony Darwin said: " Man sprang from monkeys." Fruitbat
Welcome to The Fossil Forum! It looks like you have quite an assortment of finds there! The first picture is an upper horse molar. The third picture is an astragalus (ankle bone) from some kind of mammal (also possibly from a horse). I'm going to hold back on trying to identify the rest of the images, though I do think that I see bits and pieces of 'megalodon'-type shark teeth in the mix. -Joe Illigitimati non carborundum Fruitbat's PDF Library
old bones
Nice finds and welcome to the Forum. I see fish spines in the center of the collection photo, and a sea robin skull lower left. The others are correct that we could help better with IDs if items were numbered and not quite so many per photo. These look like beach finds.? Really nice horse tooth

netosols
Also sorry for all the post. Couldn't figure out how to post them as individuals for better ID. They were all collected in the Savannah River. Thanks again y'all!

fossilized6s
Looks like Florida material. Fossil 6 the three left appear to be Sea Robin skull fragments and the one to the right looks like a Gar scale. Fossil 1 is no doubt a partial Megalodon tooth The others are a partial vertebra and bone frags, probably chunkosaurus. Harry Pristis
Fossil 2 is interesting. It's an astragalus, but not from a horse or tapir which it somewhat resembles. I can't say for sure what critter contributed this bone without comparing it in-hand. It seems to be a medium-size animal, and there are more than a few of those to select from. Here are some to compare: http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest
FossilDAWG
I'm guessing that these fossils come from one of the islands in the Savannah River that are largely made of dredge material from deepening the harbor in the past. Fossils at this site can range from Miocene to Pleistocene. Don
netosols
Thank you everyone. They came from a beach in the Savannah River mouth. 18 hours ago, Kane said: Please provide some location info. That helps us better ID finds.
