Very hard to say. It could just be geologic. Which county was this collected from? I know a lot of Michigan is paleozoic.

Looks like maybe some calcite crystals may have been there at one time, but have since eroded away.  :headscratch:

 

Wait for some more opinions, however.

Maybe just a far resemblance with brachiopod Coquina limestone (?) or just a geological wonder.
