And it was found in a Jefferson County, MO creek bed. Ordovician. It is small...you can see it compared to a dime here.

Looks like a water worn rugose coral to me. 

Ordovician didn't have bugs. ;)

I've edited one of your pictures, and gathered some photo examples from the web of different wear on rugose corals, as well as a anatomical diagram.
