ynot
Welcome to TFF! It is a fossil, but there does not appear to be enough to make an id on it. 1 Darwin said: " Man sprang from monkeys." Fossildude19
Welcome to the Forum. Looks like it might be a gastropod, or oyster steinkern, with some shell material adhering. Not enough there to tell me what. Maybe one of the more local members will chime in. 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." Noast
Also, if you don't mind me asking, what part would those funky designed white parts on the sides be, of the fossil, if they have any special name or something? Thanks again! -Ah, Would that be the shell material? Edited July 16, 2017 by Noast

It may not be the actual shell material as most fossils have been altered from their original material. The gray parts are the matrix (rock) that the fossil shell is in. 1 Darwin said: " Man sprang from monkeys." Will Rogers said: " Some of them didn't spring far enough."
