megadiente
Hi all I just bought a nice Calampleurus specimen. I am a beginner regarding fossil preparation, but in my opinion, there is still a lot of potential in my new eyecatcher. My questions to you specialists are now: What can be done, what should be avoided, regarding further preparation? Should I leave it in its original condition? jpc
Brazilian fishes are best prepped with acid. A practice you might want to avoid as a newbie. Looks cool enough, I would say.
megadiente
Hi JPC thank you for your comment. Do you have practice with acid? And could you show any results with acid preparation? Think it us really better to leave it in its original condition, or give it to a specialist gor the acid treatment. Would be a pitty, to destroy such a fossil. never saw one before, think it's quite rare
oilshale
Here you go.. JPC is right, this is the best method for scientific purposes. But if you are just a collector, I wouldn't do that.
