Devin
I am wondering if this tooth is from a horse and how old it may be.
Macrophyseter
Looks like a horse tooth to me although I'm not an expert on terrestrial mammals. So dont take my word and wait until and actual expert confirms this. If you're a fossil nut from Palos Verdes, San Pedro, Redondo Beach, or Torrance, feel free to shoot me a PM! Fruitbat
Welcome to The Fossil Forum! Definitely a horse lower cheek tooth. As for age...it appears to be Equus sp. which would make it Pleistocene ('Ice Age') or modern. Unfortunately, without specific data on the stratigraphy of the collecting locality, there is no telling which of the two (Pleistocene or modern) it is. -Joe Illigitimati non carborundum Fruitbat's PDF Library
