Dewbunny
Local find, was just laying there and a tiny sparkle caught my eye. I was thinking maybe wood or coral, maybe? Definitely something going on with it.
Dewbunny
No takers? Yeah,I'm stumped too. Sry the pics are not the best in resolution. But it's the best I can upload to the site. The ones with the good camera are too big and can't be shrunk, I think it has to do with the mega HD on the Nikon. Will try to get some better ones with the macro lenses on my phone. GeschWhat
Sorry, I can't help. The closeup with the little spherical crystalline structures look geologic. I get a coral vibe, but not my area of expertise. I'm sure other will chime in. 1 Lori www.areallycrappystory.com/fossils www.facebook.com/fossilpoo
Tidgy's Dad
I think it's geologic. Crystalline structures and some iron staining ? 1 Life's Good! Tortoise Friend.
Rockwood
My guess would be that it's the action of ground water on limestone. Doesn't look like a fossil to me.
abyssunder
There might be vugs infilled with botryoidal crystals. 1 " We are not separate and independent entities, but like links in a chain, and we could not by any means be what we are without those who went before us and showed us the way. coled18
I think those are calcite crystals in a geologic structure in the 6th picture. 1 CD
ynot
I agree with geologic, not fossil. 1 Darwin said: " Man sprang from monkeys." Will Rogers said: " Some of them didn't spring far enough." Brittle Star
To me the very first picture looks like mineral infiltration into a wood twig or something as the internal structure looks very similar to what I have found and to the right hand side it may show signs of a partial external wood structure. Very mineralised. If not it has done an excellent impression. 1 Never ask a starfish for directions
fifbrindacier
Sorry, i hesitated with wood and a limestone carved by water with crystals of calcite, but, seeing all the photos, i'm in the geologic camp. This said, it's a nice one and you have a good eye, keep on looking for tiny sparkles or "funny" stones, you'll do nice and interesting finds. 1 "On ne voit bien que par le coeur, l'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux."
