Is this a theropod caudal vertebrae

Hi

Im prepping out this dinosaur vertebrae and I'm hoping someone can help with ID.

Its from the Lower Createous.

The bone preservation is very good and it's a nice black colour. You can see what I think are two pleurocoels showing. I think it's a theropod caudal but I'm just guessing.

The other side and ends are still covered in matrix but I'll post additional photos when I've prepped more.

Any help on the type of dinosaur and any specifics would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Not sure I can help but it starts with better pictures.   Need them of all sides straight in shots no obtuse angles, thanks.  How about a locality where it was found?

Here you go.

This a picture side on. There's nothing to see from the other angles yet but I'll post when prepped. It's about 4 inches long.

I'm interested in whether the pleurocoels (the bits that look like eyes), allow a more specific identification. I've not fully prepped out the depressions and I've had a good look for similar pictures but I haven't found anything yet.

It looks like a neovenator vertebrae I've got but that doesn't have the depressions.

Thanks Paul

Is it only certain caudals that have the pleurocoels?

Heres another without any:

Hi

The location is UK, Lower Cretaceous. I can't say any more than that. I'm sure you'll understand.

Thanks

Crikey, they're wonderful!

How many of the verts do you have?

Other bones?

Isle of Wight?

To me your vert looks like a dorsal here are photos of two dorsal and one anterior caudal if a Neovenator.  Your other smaller  vert I also believe is a dorsal.

Thanks everyone for the help.

I didn't find these but I wish I had.

Interestingly it has two pleurocoels rather than one. I'll post some more pics when I've prepped out the vert fully.

If you can get a copy of this monograph might help you.  Hard to ID based on a Centrum.  The dual pleurocoels might just be positional.

Thanks Troodon.

I'll get a copy in the new year as I have a couple of other bones that need prepping and id-ing
