Arizona Rex
Hello forum, I came across this at a rock/fossil shop while on a recent road trip. It was labeled as Carcharodontosaurus vertebra from Kem Kem. The shop owner said probably mid-back vertebra. The piece is approximately 12 inches wide and 12 inches across. Any help identifying is greatly appreciated.
LordTrilobite
It's a bit hard to see in that light, but that colour seems completely wrong for Kem Kem. It looks like Khouribga sediment. Looks like Plesiosaur to me. Olof Moleman AKA Lord Trilobite
Troodon
Agreed matrix looks like it's from Khouribga Dorsal from Plesiosaur. Centrum pretty round. Croc?
Arizona Rex
Thank you for your help. My unofficial guess was plesiosaur as well. Here are a couple new pictures under a flash to highlight the color of the matrix.
LordTrilobite
Yes that lighting is better. Indeed Khouribga material. Olof Moleman AKA Lord Trilobite
