seonghun
I found this miocene fossil from Pohang, Korea. I think spots near the abdomen is Light organs. Is this order Stomiiformes? Size about 4cm Edited March 4, 2018 by seonghun

oilshale
There are also other fish with light organs (photophores): Could be also Myctophum, a Lantern fish. This is an Eomyctophum cf. menneri from the Oligocene of Poland: And this is a Myctophum columnae from the Miocene Italy: This is Lampanyctus petrolifer from the Miocene of California - also a member of the Myctophidae really difficult to tell. For Stomiiformes, I am missing the rather large teeth on the maxilla and premaxilla - so I would rather guess Myctophidae. But I am not an expert. 4 Be not ashamed of mistakes and thus make them crimes (Confucius, 551 BC - 479 BC).
