eannis6
Hello all, I recently visited Aurora Fossil Museum again, and I found this piece of a shark tooth. Now I am fully aware that making an id by a piece very well may be impossible. However, I also know that many of you are very knowledgeable. Here it is, take a stab at helping me identify it if you don’t mind. It has no serrations, so I know it’s not from the carcharocles line. The root is very conical. ynot
Any id would be a guess. There are several teeth it could be. Darwin said: " Man sprang from monkeys." Darktooth
Ok I will guess that maybe its a Mako 1 I like Trilo-butts and I cannot lie.
HoppeHunting
Shot in the dark. I'd say Mako as well. Of the teeth I held up to my screen to do a side by side of where the root meets the crown, it looked most similar to my Isurus teeth. The cross section of the root being conical means a thick root center, common in Makos. Also, the shape of the complete root would look much like that of a Mako. Could be anything. Again, very very hard to know for sure. Only a guess! 1 The Hunt for the Hemipristine continues! ~Hoppe hunting!~

Miocene_Mason
I guess it is a dinosaur egg and I will firmly stand by that viewpoint no matter how much evidence is put forth against said conclusion. “...whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been and are being evolved.” ~ Charles Darwin Happy hunting, Mason

MeargleSchmeargl
Anybody's guess. Wild stab: Mako. Every single fossil you see is a miracle set in stone, and should be treated as such.
