Veru nice tooth but how do you know it's Tiourarén Fm not Irhazer Shale which would affect the ID ?

Unfortunately that map is useless since all Jurassic and Cretaceous deposits are in that area.  You really don't know the provenance on most material from Niger

Illustrations like this one show the proximity of all these deposits, and has I've said many times,  teeth pass through many hands before it gets to a collector.  The Irhazer Group contains both the Irhazer Shale and Tiourarén Fm and hard to differentiate without expert knowledge.

Just trying to educate everyone and not dive blindfold into Niger material

Thanks @Troodon

What other Megalosaurid could it be other than Afrovenator?

All depends on which deposit it came from.   Afrovenator is only known from the Tiourarén Fm not from the older Irhazer Shale.  Could it be Cretaceous?  You dont know,  just making assumptions.  Why an accurate location is the most important item to have for identification

Well I started buying about 2 years ago and only had 5 teeth - the small baryonyx, albertosaurus, Light carcharodontosaurus, brown thick T. rex and the Gorgosaurus in the centre of the image with the small teeth.

I started collecting again in the new year and all the other teeth have been acquired since

oh and all teeth have have been purchased. I live in London so no chance to fossil hunt unfortunately

Hi who did you buy your teeth from? Pm me if needed :dinothumb:
