Looks more like geologic or mineral features, to me. :unsure:  :headscratch:

Yeah, that's what i thought too. Or cold it be marks from small animals.

I think it is diabase (dolerite, microgabbro), or a similar igneous rock, with the plagioclase crystals heavily eroded.

I'm leaning toward polychaete worm borings on pebble surface.
