The last two above were done this morning, then my wife and I took a brisk hike through the vineyards overlooking the Lake of Constance, had a tasty meal in Meersburg and then I got back to the prep bench for the rest of the afternoon. The first one is a multiblock with Ancolioceras opalinoides. Top left 2nd crate. 17cm. long. Life is good.. I can imagine the satisfaction. Live long and prosper... Ludwigia
Didn't get much done today, but at least the little bivalve and a small matrix multiblock are done. Nicaniella sp. Ancolioceras opalinoides, Ludwigia sp. and a Myophorella formosa bivalve. Greetings from the Lake of Constance. Jeffrey P
Love the little bivalve Roger. The ammonites are adorable too. You have a career's worth of excellent finds there, especially the ones with multiple specimens. Can't wait to see the rest of them prepped. Thanks for sharing. goatinformationist
Nice specimens, nice prep, nice pictures. Now to get to Aalenian, I have to take a left off of I-20 near what town in Georgia?
Fossil-Hound
@Ludwigia Roger these are super impressive. I really need to come out there and visit you one of these days. I really wish I could just go out and find Ammonites like you do. Do or do not. There is no try. - Yoda

Ludwigia
I mostly tend to prep what I think are the best ones first, so now I've done some of the slightly damaged ones. Either bits missing or glued back together. I'm planning on going back to the site this afternoon and this time I'll be taking my camera along with me, so I should have a few in situ photos to show. 2 Greetings from the Lake of Constance. Thanks guys. The wonderful thing about most of the fossils from this horizon is that the separating layer between matrix and fossil is ideal, which allows me to progress quite quickly.
