Max-fossils
@caterpillar now that is one way to crush down any competition... It's as if your giant beast brutally stomped on all these other gorgeous shark teeth (and archosaur tooth)! That's an insanely cool find!!! Well done. (I almost feel bad for the other entries, because they really deserve the win (especially your Noto symphyseal, Mason! It's a beauty) but it's gonna be a little harder for them now ) Max Derème "I feel an echo of the lightning each time I find a fossil. A win would be nice but it’s not essential. I try to put one in every month. @caterpillar that is an amazing skull, and must’ve taken Herculean patience to prep! “...whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been and are being evolved.” ~ Charles Darwin Happy hunting, Mason

MeargleSchmeargl
Is @caterpillar DQ'd? It looks like he stole the final result out of a museum and entered it! Well, looks like verts are over before it could even begin! What will the inverts shape up to? Every single fossil you see is a miracle set in stone, and should be treated as such. minnbuckeye
Isotelus iowensis Maquoketa, Ordovician Fayette Co, Iowa 5/2/18 Finished prep yesterday. In early May, I ventured to Fayette Co, Ia to find some large Isotelus partials for a member of the forum. I did not have success for him, but I scored nicely. @Tidgy's Dad pointed out that this is a one eyed trilobite and it made an impression on me so much that last week, I set out to retrieve the eye! Here its the imprint that I went back and retrieved with the "hole" visible where eye-enucleation surgery occurred. Actually the other eye found a bit of missing surface material too:

sixgill pete
This may be for naught, but I am still going to enter the vertebrate contest. This is a rare find, and a first for my collections. digit
That's what this contest is really about--getting to show great finds that you are proud of. There can be only one "winner" in each category each month but all who enter win our admiration for finding special items. I remember finding a bird bone at the Montbrook site last season which was small but rare (for the site). It was not a gomphothere skull but I was rightly proud to have had it turn up in the grid square I was digging. We also need the full details here for your submission. I, for one, am interested in more information about this find. Cheers. -Ken
