Briggs Road, Earlville N.Y. 5/11/18

I went on a short, 2 hour hunt today after work. I decided to hit the trilo layer at Briggs Road once again. I found a fair amount of trilo parts and a few which may be whole. Here are some of the finds.

Congratulations Dave on some excellent finds. Glad to see you're getting out. You're lucky you live so close to such great fossil collecting localities.

Congratulations, Dave.  :)

Glad you got out.

Some of the rollers look like they could be complete.

Well done, sir.

Very nicely done, Dave. Fingers crossed that some come out complete. A good thing you decided to hit up this location after work rather than, say, on a lunch hour as it would be very sad to peel away to go back to work!

Love the double trilobites at the end. Lucky.
What a haul! Trilobites in my area must not be as common as they are over in NY!

Nice finds! Im :envy: on how often you get out and hunt!

I have to admit I am probably a bit spoiled having sites to hunt relatively close to me. That is why I seem to go often, even though it may only be a couple hours. I will say that last night, the two hours I spent just flew by. I was planning on hunting Briggs for an hour and then going to Deep Spring for an hour but I was having such a good time at Briggs I decided to stay put.

Thank-you Gentlemen! I am definitely hoping some of those are whole. Though Eldredgeops are the most common trilo found at this site I was finding some isolated Dipleura thorax segments. Maybe with some more searching I can uncover one from this site as well! And Kane I wish my job was close enough to hunt on lunch break, but unfortunately it is still an hour drive from work.:( Not good for lunch breaks but not bad for an afterwork jaunt.

A bit spoiled myself, peace river being 6 blocks away. Lots of pretty things but narry a trilobite. Odd looking critters. The rains are upon us, "fossils moving around season" is beginning.
