I just wanted to add to my ammonite and mammal collection posts with the best of my plant material.

4+5 My favourite of all from Central Oregon with woodworm holes.

6.Madagascar 

7.This is called Peanut wood because of the pattern . Carnarvon. Australia

8. Very rare multi block 

Nodule of Xipheroceras with 

with a small piece of driftwood and a Belemnite phragmacone .

12. A collection of fossil seeds from London clay of the Isle of Sheppey, Kent, UK. In my opinion    probably one the best places in the world for fossilised plant seeds.

Thank you Frank yes it is incredible to think about such an insignificant moment as a larva of a beetle eating it’s way though some wood can be recorded in time and understood millions of years late by a species that did not exist at the time the trace was layed down. Woodworm in petrified wood is anything but boring.:D

Looks like your number sequence is a little off in the first post...

That SE Oregon piece looks familiar, I think I have some of that stuff, but was not sure where it was from, but that sounds right.

 

Crimbo (Christmas), I wasn't sure what that meant either - some dense British slang there.  :wacko:
