Mazon Creek ID- Euproops danae?

I cracked this Mazon Creek concretion open today, and I am thinking that it is a Euproops danae Horseshoe crab, but not positive on this one. What do other members think?  @RCFossils

It looks like a horseshoe crab. The last picture of the negative impression is covered in bumps which is a crabby thing.

Yup.

I think what you can see in your specimen is the head-shield and the uppermost part of the thorax. 

More to be uncovered, one suspects.

I have a few, but this one looked a little funky. BTW- this concretion came out of Pit 4.

Agreed

It is definitely Euproops danae.

Your showing Figure 3 from Haug et al. (2012), on Euproops sp. from the Piesberg quarry, Germany. There also is a Haug and Rötzer (2018) paper, which deals with Euproops danae and concludes that species-level classification is presently uncertain, given the lack of ontogenic sequences for other species, such as Euproops rotondus.
