DatFossilBoy
Hi. I am considering buying this really nice Tyrannosaurid tooth. It is either a Daspletosaurus or a Gorgosaurus tooth. Is there a way of knowing what it could be from? It is from the Judith River formation. Here are some pictures and dimensions. Thanks Regards. gigantoraptor
No, unfortunatly there is no way to know what species this is. The only way I know is when it's bigger than 3 inch, then it's a Daspletosaurus. Nice tooth anyway.

hxmendoza
Unfortunately at that small a size you really can’t assign a specific genus to this tooth. It essentially is: Tyrannosauridae sp. indeterminate. Regardless, it’s a beautiful little Tyrannosaur tooth.
Tidgy's Dad
I've read before that one can't tell the difference between these species. But it's a beautiful thing. 1 Life's Good! Tortoise Friend.
