T-Rex tooth

Hi.

I am considering buying this really nice Tyrannosaurid tooth.

It is either a Daspletosaurus or a Gorgosaurus tooth.

Is there a way of knowing what it could be from?

It is from the Judith River formation.

Here are some pictures and dimensions.

Thanks :)

Regards.

No, unfortunatly there is no way to know what species this is. The only way I know is when it's bigger than 3 inch, then it's a Daspletosaurus. Nice tooth anyway:).

Unfortunately at that small a size you really can’t assign a specific genus to this tooth.

It essentially is:

Tyrannosauridae sp. indeterminate.

Regardless, it’s a beautiful little Tyrannosaur tooth.

I've read before that one can't tell the difference between these species.

But it's a beautiful thing. :)
