Loftheim
Hi there, I’m currently exploring the region of the cantabrian mountains in Spain south of Villamanin, in the aptly named cantabrian zone, but I’m struggling to identify this small trilobite I found on the las hiruelas road east of La Vid. Granted it’s only a pygidium exposed but I don’t want to risk damaging it for now. From the geological map I know it’s from the Furada/San Pedro formation which spans the Silurian to Devonian boundary but I can’t find any comparable images online. I’m hoping someone on here can help. Thanks for your time L.
doushantuo
The geological map being ? Btw,The Cantabrian Mts were the stomping grounds of (particularly)German* and Dutch** paleontologists & stratigraphers. *focussing on the Mesozoic **back in the days(particularly the Asturian/Leonese zone) Do you have the 1988 Suarez de Centi thesis from Oviedo University? Would posting Truyols(1990("Pre-Mesoz.,etc,Iberia")help?

Loftheim
@doushantuo I’ve been using the Spanish geological institutes online map viewer: http://info.igme.es/visorweb/ and no I don’t have either of those papers, if you could post them that would really help, thanks
piranha
It is frustrating trying to sort out esoteric author citations, so hopefully these papers will assist you further: Arbizu, M. 1979 Asteropyginae (Trilobita) du Devonien des Montagnes Cantabriques (Espagne).
