Buildathing
Took our first trip to Big Brook Preserve in NJ. Great day finding small shark teeth and inkpens. Came across this bone. My first thought is that it is a modern day vertebrate, even thought it looks like a face lol. It is light in weight as well. It looks to have matrix attactined it some areas, but it may just be clay from the stream bed. Any input would be helpful. Thanks Edited June 19, 2018 by Buildathing Misspelling
The Jersey Devil
It's a modern skull bone, probably from a rodent. 1 “You must take your opponent into a deep dark forest where 2+2=5, and the path leading out is only wide enough for one.” ― Mikhail Tal
Troodon
Looks like a sacrum, small mammal?
Fossildude19
I agree - looks more like a sacrum. Maybe squirrel? Can we get a picture of the other side? 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." Yeah, it's probably actually a sacrum from a small modern rodent and not a skull bone. “You must take your opponent into a deep dark forest where 2+2=5, and the path leading out is only wide enough for one.” ― Mikhail Tal
