I know right ..... sifted using a sand flea rake. The very next pull resulted in a tooth that was an exact twin of this tooth in every way. Except it was jet black. Crazy how that works.

A child of the 60s for sure. It could be its own Tshirt. Hmmmm.

The best of this past Tuesday while out on the river. The weather was fantastic with a swift current after the rains that made the crossing interesting. (Ok, dragging my kayak what seemed like a 1,000 feet upriver 'back' to where I normally put back in was not fun) But, I met a wonderful couple from Toronto (down for the weather, ha !) while on one of my beaches.

Some nice keepers on this trip.  The delphinid , dolphin tooth was fantastic because this is the first I've seen here. Probably the nicest surprise for the day.

The Sand Tiger tooth was ridiculous .. and complete at that size which is a miracle.

Dolphin tooth .. broken but still fantastic.

A hemi with the cusps intact. Another occurrence that is rare for this bit of water.

No that's not a hockey puck you silly bird it's a fossil that I picked up on the way back to the kayak.

Nice teeth, great variety, and beautiful photos!

Thanks !

I have to visually document them as quickly as possible so they don't become forgotten when I sort and put them away.

The Wednesday edition. 10 miles (7 miles hiking) and a few finds for my troubles ..... the weather was nice.  The small meg is my best so far from the river, just a little damage.

These are the best of the bunch.

Cheers,

Brett

Hi Brett Looks like you are having a lot of fun-even with the hard work. Love the "lightening" Galerocerdo in the first page. Absolutely stunning. Envy your 6" meg-I'm still looking keeps me motivated! Merry Christmas Tom

Thanks ... it is awesome to be out in the 'wilderness' I see all kinds of crazy things.  I've had a small pod of dolphins come by to check things out on the kayak and a few months ago a pair of military boats stormed the muddy beaches -- complete with replica 50 cal automatic gunfire --, so there is always something to see along the way.  haha

Good luck ... to boldly go ... oftentimes works.  It really is hard work honestly, none of it is really ever easy, and you are never guaranteed to find anything.

Hi Tony .. here they are warts and all.  The complete stingray barb eludes me to this day.  The meg is a bit beat up but is such a beautiful little tooth. Again, not too many to be had that are complete.

Ok, well Spring break is almost over before it had begun, but I squeezed in 2 days on the river. My wife ... a saint .. there, I said it. It's on the internet forever.

Ok, moving on. What follows are a few highlights if the trips. The mornings were a chilly paddle. The second day the wind was wild -w- small Whitecaps but the wind and tide were to my back .. so it was a sail rather than a paddle .. let's call it a run.

Day 01 - slow day. Wanted to ease in so as not to end up tired and stranded. Haha
