ynot Posted August 9, 2018 Share Posted August 9, 2018 I believe that most (if not all) opal fossils from that formation are casts. That would make the shape the only clue to an identity once it is removed from the matrix. Is it bone? Maybe. Can it be identified? Probably not. Darwin said: " Man sprang from monkeys." rodrex Posted November 11, 2018 Share Posted November 11, 2018 Most likely Plant Material. Bone even replaced either preserves a hallow (like for pterosaurs/theropods) or bone marrow...
