DeeMoji
So I found this pretty rock and felt the need to bring it home. Can anyone tell me why it formed like that?
DeeMoji
I found it in the whiskey bridge area of the Brazos. (I forgot to mention it above, sorry )
daves64
Looks like the cross section of a concretion to me. Layers of different minerals built up, much like a banded agate or geode. 1 Accomplishing the impossible means only that the boss will add it to your regular duties. Rockwood
It could be an example of liesegang banding. I have seen several examples that I've been undecided about calling layered concretion or liesegang banding. I suspect that in many cases it could be a combination of the two processes.
Ludwigia
Please try to post a sharper photo with higher resolution, then it would be easier for us to judge this object. 1 Greetings from the Lake of Constance.
