I found an interesting Thescelosaurus tooth online. No locality was given other than the fact that the dealer claims that the tooth is from the Hell Creek formation. What do you guys think?

I've heard somewhere that thescelosaurus and pachycephalosaur teeth are so similar they can't be identified without very close examination. But I'm not sure where I heard that from or whether that's true. Time to use the troodon signal!!!!

Some of the tooth positions can be confused so this should help.  Found under Q & A forum... Troodons Guide for Dinosaur Collectors

yeah I saw that as well and can confirm that the id is accurate.

Thanks! I ordered it after input from the Fossil Forum! I don’t have any herbivorous Dino teeth, so I’m excited to add this baby to my collection! :)

I agree with our friend Frank!

Bulbous top format...

Curvature in the crown very typical of Thescelosaurus ...

And a great detail that caught my attention, and that I found fantastic, that is, that your tooth is not broken, but rather, just worn...

Congratulations my friend @Zapsalis, you have one of the 6 premax teeth! :D

I understand well how great it is to be able to have the first tooth of a herbivorous dinosaur in the collection ... This was the first tooth of a Herbivorous Dinosaur that I bought for my private collection:

An indeterminate sauropod tooth from the Kem Kem Beds!

Is It real, or it's not real, that's the question!

Thank you so much for your input, Douglas! I’m proud to now own a herbivore pre-max tooth and I’m proud to own the premax tooth of a Thescelosaurus as my first herbivore tooth! Also, congrats on your first herbivore tooth! It’s very beautiful! :)

I’ve also been meaning to post this. This is on the bottom of the gem jar that holds my tooth (the tooth came in the gem jar). What does this mean? I’m really curious! :)
