D.N.FossilmanLithuania
Dear Guys, Few months ago I found this tooth in mollusc matrix of Varena town, South Lithuania. Judging by growing orientation, I think it could be from Hammerhead shark but maybe someone could identify more accurate? Any help will be appreciated! Anomotodon
This is most likely Cretaceous, or, less likely, Jurassic. Root structure looks Synechodontiform-like, so I would guess Synechodus. Better pictures of the tooth out of matrix would help a lot (or at least a cleaned root). Definitely not a hammerhead though, they don't have cusplets and are completely different morphologically. The Tooth Fairy
D.N.FossilmanLithuania
Thank you Dear Anomotodon. Then Jurassic would be more likely because the rocks with masses of mollusc shells in Lithuania are more known from this age.
