Goulmima Pliosaur tooth?

Hello, I recently bought this tooth and it was labelled as a Pliosaur tooth. I was wondering if this is true as I haven’t seen many fossils from Goulmima.

Nice tooth! it could be from a Pliosaur but it is hard to tell, might also be from a different marine reptile. As far as i am aware, there is only 1 species of Pliosaur described from that area Brachauchenius Lucasi

I have a couple of teeth from that area which are likely Pliosaur in origin, here are a few pictures to compare with

I agree, my tooth looks Mosasaur like. But there haven’t been any Mosasaur fossils recorded from that area.

IIRC Tethysaurus has been described from that area and is a Mosasauroid, though looking at the teeth of that marine reptile, it doesn't look that similar and your tooth has less of a curve, here is a picture of a Tethysaurus jaw + teeth for comparison.....

You could also try asking a Plesiosaur expert such as the one on this site - http://plesiosaur.com/. His name is Richard and he might be able to help identify the tooth. Might be worth a try.

Hello, thank you and yes I contacted him.
