Welcome to the forum!

My guess is that could be a Ichthyodectid jaw, maybe a Xiphactinus audax mandible?

If you're a fossil nut from Palos Verdes, San Pedro, Redondo Beach, or Torrance, feel free to shoot me a PM!

Here's an image of a Xiphactinus mandible from the Science Photo Library.

Note that your jaw is the same sort of shape and imagine it without the teeth.

Nice find.

Just a hint for future posts- please take pictures from all sides straight on. This will help us to get a better idea of what  a piece looks like.

Thanks,

Tony
