Scolecodont?

While prepping a Platystrophia ponderosa just now, I came across this little guy. I'm thinking Scolecodont.  Thoughts?  Stratigraphic context in tags. Scale in mm.

I am prepping a Vinlandostrophia ponderosa at the moment too! :)

I can't think it could be anything other than a scolecodont, great find! :)

Hope I get to find one some time.

That's awesome! What are the chances. (And I haven't got on board with Vinlandostrophia yet. Call me a grumpy, cynical old man. :)).

There seems to be a lot of phosphatic bits in this matrix.  May have to do a thorough examination of it.

I found my first one in the silurian a couple months ago. I assumed it was a conodont.  (I guess it wasn't technically my first one because I have some jaws in the Mazon Creek worms, but those are a little easier to recognize, being at the anterior end of a worm impression :))
