ReptileTooth
Hello, I've been offered this Rhacolepis, it seems it got broken and then repaired, plus it seems there's some paint shade around the specimen. Do you think it's a composite of two different concretions to obtain a fish with head and tail or a damaged genuine one? Thanks. gigantoraptor
I think it's a real one. My Vinctifer comptoni has the same type of repair.
RJB
That is a very common fish and even though lots of times these are broken and repaired, this seems to be all the same fish? RB
Fossildude19
Nice example. I'd add it to my collection. 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." Vinctifer has different scales like the ones show below. The picture is from the Internet.
ReptileTooth
Thanks for the insightful comments! I'll make an offer and try to get it, as the head of this specimen is not ''exploded''.
