fossilized_griffin
Received these 4 specimens and I was told they were from west of Delta, UT, probalby the Chainman Formation. Any help in getting some kind of ID would be great. I looked up a little about the Chainman and didn't see too much out there for anything non sponge/brachiopod/criniod. caldigger
Hmm, I don't see anything that resembles a particular type of fossil. * Not to say they aren't, I'm just not making out anything recognizable. Hopefully someone familiar with the area may have better ideas.
Plax
google says the Chainman is late Mississippian. These look like vertebrate fossils to me though.
DeepTimeIsotopes
There’s a lot west of Delta. Are you sure it’s from the Chainman? It’s more known for its goniatite and crinoid fossils in Utah. Each dot is 50,000,000 years: Hadean............Archean..............................Proterozoic.......................................Phanerozoic........... Paleo......Meso....Ceno.. ynot
I see unidentifiable fragments. They may be parts or pieces of fossil, but can not see any distinguishing features. 1 Darwin said: " Man sprang from monkeys." Will Rogers said: " Some of them didn't spring far enough." ClearLake
The first one looks like it could be a fragment of a crinoid arm with the feeding groove visible in the fourth picture. I don’t have any idea on the others.
fossilized_griffin
I don't know for sure if this was from the Chainman, it's just what I was told. The guy I got these from seemed to think it might have been the Chainman, but he wasn't certain.
