GregThoman
Hey all! I found this jaw segment near Ladonia, TX in North Sulfur River. The part throwing me off from identification is the shape of the bone beneath the teeth. It flattens out (which can be seen in the side view)

Heteromorph
Compare with Saurodon:
GregThoman
Thanks ynot and Heteromorph! I was looking toward Saurodon as well. The part that's throwing me off is the angle of the teeth to the rest of the jaw fragment. I don't see that 90 degree angle in other Saurodon fossil examples. But the color and teeth look very similar, maybe it was altered during fossilization... My other thoughts were Xiphactinus Fish or something reptilian. Thanks for your help! Any other suggestions? M Harvey
It's a mosasaur pterygoid. The tooth angle, size and flattened base are consistent with that bone.

I can certainly see the resemblance to these bones:
