Gatordreams
Hello! This is my first time posting,I’m sorry if any of the format is incorrect. I read through the rules first. I know some of these might just be rocks that look like something cool, or modern bones/teeth. Any identification ideas are welcome, I’m still learning what is what and I’m really interested in all of these things that I’ve set aside. Most were found in Peace River and Caspersen Beach. JamieLynn
a suggestion - put numbers by each of the items so if people have an ID for you, they can just say number such and such....otherwise it's REALLY confusing... www.fossil-quest.com

That’s a great idea. How do I delete my entire post to start over, is this allowed?

Plantguy
Cool stuff. You have all kinds of things there--very nice! I'll take a first pass but will probably need some individual clear photos with a scale/ruler next to the item to figure out what critter and some may need to be looked at in hand by someone cause a clear photo might be tough to come up with.. 1, 7 ?unknown could be matrix/casts of some burrow or something else entirely 2 bone fragment-fish spine? 3? invertebrate shell/boring cast? 4 tooth-fragment of darker tooth with root 5 barnacle cast? 6 shiney polished dark-- could be tooth, bone, or phosphate fragment, something else? 8 bone-fish vertebrae 9 bone/tooth-sawfish or some other slender tooth? worn bone fragment? maybe some thing else? 10 bone? scale? ovoid shape with that flared piece--possible gar scale? 11 bone-turtle shell fragment 12 bone? worn fragment? 13 bone--mammal vertebrae 14 bone--almost looks like a vert/astralagus 15 bone--very nice! not sure which--better picture with ruler 16, 20, 23,24 ?? unknown could be fragments of wornbone/maybe coprolites? 17 bone-another vertebra? need more pictures with a ruler 18 bone-- fish vertebrae/maybe a shark vertebrae in there 19 Tooth--extremely nice. NEED more pictures with a ruler of this one...a beauty! with a cutting bite! 21 bone fragment? 22 ?claw core? bone fragment? gastropod cast? 25? Gator tooth or maybe gastropod internal cast? 26 Claw core?-- need more pics/ruler 27 Shark tooth fragment-Tiger type 28 Tooth fragment? mammal? Others more knowledgeable will no doubt chime in with more detail and corrections. Quite a starter collection-congrats. Continued hunting success!
