ynot
I think it is a pebble in matrix, not a fossil. Darwin said: " Man sprang from monkeys." Will Rogers said: " Some of them didn't spring far enough." My Fossil collection - My Mineral collection My favorite thread on TFF.
Plantguy
Interesting... Very well could not be a fossil and a pebble as Tony said, as it looks like there might be other non-fossil pebble sized, semi rounded shapes in the matrix. It appears to have a bit of a different more ovoid shape and lighter color though. It does also seem to be slightly raised/be harder?/more resistant that the surrounding matrix which doesnt rule fossil out--not sure if that raised area was simply done with prepping around it to expose more of it. Not being able to see it up close I wonder if it could even be some mineral replacement/fill in a void or perhaps in a fossil mold.. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what to make of it based on the pictures/preservation...tough one to ID firmly. Regards, Chris
