cngodles
These are two stone oddities found in a family gravel bed. I’m not exactly sure who brought the rock or where it’s from. When I need to kill some time, I start picking up pieces and examine them. The gravel bed is in Western PA, so hopefully it’s not more than 300-500 miles from here! Ruler is mm. Ludwigia
First one is bryozoan. Not sure about the second one. 2 Greetings from the Lake of Constance. Roger http://www.steinkern.de/
Rockwood
Some relatively large brachiopods (at least I think it's what they are) have this sort of divider in their shells. Second one.
Mark Kmiecik
The first one is a VERY nice specimen of a bryozoan -- exceptional preservation. Very collectible! The second is a cross-section of some kind of shell with other bits of marine fossils. 1 Mark. Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!
