MrBones
I found this fossil today on a hill close to a beach called shipwreck beach in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi. I have not found anything quite like this before. Hope it can be identified. My geusse is leg bone, but it looks a lot like a jaw with no teeth. I'm no sure about the time period, most fossils here seem to be from miocene.
MrBones
The fossil was stuck, upside down, in a layer of gypsum, floating above a red clay-like layer.

MrBones
The under side is currently not visable. There is a small hole in the centre.

El_Hueso
Whoa this is defiantly a very interesting find. On the one hand, I can see what you mean when you say leg, but when I look at it kind of squinted I can certainly see a "jaw bone". I am very stumped by this. What looks to be "teeth" could be rock concretions imbedded in a softer rock. I am very interested in a closer view of those "teeth" if you are able to post them. Very cool find regardless of whatever this is. It is definitely something I would have picked up.
MrBones
I agree, it is a very nice find. It does not have any teeth, you were right, they are just smaller rocks, also there isn't any holes in the bone where teeth could have been. MrBones
Don't know if it helps, but Ruwais use to be a savanna.
Pemphix
From all what i understood by reading several articles about that site, the fossil might be of scientific interest/significance: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/281712147_Miocene_Geology_and_Fossils_of_Abu_Dhabi https://www.academia.edu/760202/A_New_Late_Miocene_Fossil_Site_In_Ruwais_Western_Region_of_Abu_Dhabi_United_Arab_Emirates http://www.adias-uae.com/ruwais.html ID'ing is still hard, since to less is visible to make a clear ID here... Bone is for sure. The known list of fossils from this site listed in the articles may help.

I am aware that there is very little information on the fossils here, and not much is done to preserve them. Thank you for doing the research! MrBones
After consulting a zoological paleontologist, Dr. Mark Beech, it seems to be a jawbone from a crocodile closely related to the Nile crocodile. The part of the jaw that contained the teeth has broken off, long ago.
