    Definitely bone! Fossilized?

Looks modern to me. If you want to know for sure, you can try the "burn test". Hold a flame aggainst it, and if it smells, smokes, and, or even burns, you can be sure its not a fossil.

    Found on Jersey Beach

Thanks Tim ! (And Elmo) Again, I've learned something new today. But this was a tricky shell. Maybe I should look more for details, rather than the whole thing.

    Jurassic era footprint?

a really really wonderful place on earth, was at the Isle of Skye two times in my life to dig jurassic ammonites, enjoy the nature, the people...

    Some Florida Gulf Coast Finds

And finally: This appears to be from the upper palate of a crocodilian. I’ve found a few lately and that appears to be a match but I’d like a second opinion.

    Return of the dyrosaurid tooth

Ah yes, I forgot to link it. Here it is.

    Found on Jersey Beach

I agree with shell. I see a lot of them at my stomping grounds and sometimes they can be pretty deceiving.
  9. I was not to show until there is a photo in the new atlas of inclusions but I have to brag. Extremely rare inclusion - a mushroom with a cap in Baltic amber Such a find is one in a million even for an amber searcher. Homobasidiomycetes possibly. What is very interesting, the stem of the mushroom is wrapped with some kind of hair and it is not a spider web. Baltic amber inclusion. 2mm, not big but extremely rare. It will be in the book called AmberArt II, already in first one book had some of my pictures and rare finds

    Found on Jersey Beach

But not really likely on a beach in New Jersey, USA. Location of the beach matters, as well. Possible? Yes. Not as likely, though.

    Tooth identify

Hello, I found a cute little tooth a bit back searching through matrix from Purse State park and with the help of @Tidgy's Dad I think we have it figured out. I’m looking to see the opinions of others. We think it’s from Delpitoscyllium africanum. Thank you in advance for any assistance that can be given.

This is just a 7/8” wide (1” long) tooth I can’t seem to be able to identify.

    Definitely bone! Fossilized?

Very hard bone--not sure it qualifies as a fossil. Been the ocean a LONG time is my guess. Found on beach in Delaware.

    Some Florida Gulf Coast Finds

The second rock is simply odd enough to warrant further research. Unlike the all-too-common phosphate laying around, this appears to be a 1” ‘squished’ item. The front is crackled, with smooth ‘tiles’. The rear is a smooth gray surface.

    Some Florida Gulf Coast Finds

Hello, Everyone; I found what appear to be several interesting rocks on the beach in Venice, Florida lately and decided to see if they arouse the interest of the panel here. I’ll start out with one that I first thought was a shard of mammoth/mastodon tooth. Upon turning it over I was intrigued by the black, toothlike colorations.

    Found on Jersey Beach

Yes, thats true. I dont like to contradict an expert, but mammal teeth like that I've shown can be also found on beaches, but are less common than oyster shells. I've found that one that I've shown for comparison on a beach. So its still a possibility for me. But without the right pictures, I think no one of us can be 100% sure.

    Fish skull bone identification

Wauw, I don't know anything about these kind of fossils but I'd never have recognized something in it if I came across it

    Found on Jersey Beach

It could be an oyster shell too, I just saw now the layer like construction. I saw at first a tooth in it, but now, oyster shell is also a possibility. Maybe I should look more for deatails in the pictures, so something like that wont happen so fast again.

    Found on Jersey Beach

I think oyster or partial tooth are both possible. The upper and under sides will hopefully clear this out
