Sberebit
I took a trip to Southern Indiana to do some fossil hunting (they are an elusive creature). I am now just cleaning some of them up and saw this one and it piqued my curiosity. It is from the Ordovician period (Dillsboro formation). Can anyone help me out? Sorry for the use of a quarter, it was all I had. Thank you.
Fossildude19
Looks like an orthocone cephalopod to me. 3 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." For a meager bid you can have yourself one of these custom photo cubes and a whole bunch of great ammonoid fossils. That will clear up that coinage dilemma right up! FossilNerd
Agree with the cephalopod assessment. Looks like you have some brachiopod/bivalve pieces around it as well. I would guess brachiopod since they are so common in the area.
