Just Got Back From A Walk

Well I just got back from a walk with Maximus. I had no idea that it was 33 outside but it had rained and as I metioned once before thats when I like to go out, when everything is washed off and stands out.

My friend who lives close saw me down near the stream, and thought she needed to pull over to say "you'll never find a husband doing stuff like that" . I told her I wasn't looking for a husband I was looking for fossils and she needed to go to work and leave me to enjoy my day off, before I let let Maximus say hi to her with his dirty paws. I never saw anyone move so fast lol .

I love finding large clumps of crinoid hash. They are a pretty salmon color and very smooth like marbel. I offen wonder why I never find the crowns in the hash.

I also love the patterns on the horn coral, when I google them I never seem to find pics that look like mine.

I like this area because the strata is next to the water.

Well we stayed for about an 1/2 hr then finished our walk. This is what I got.

I just noticed that the coral appears to have some beekitzation going on. Very cool. If you are wondering what that is, check out the first picture in this post for another example. http://www.thefossilforum.com/index.php/topic/7744-interesting-sedimentary-structure-seismites/

Answers.com says a beekite is:

A concretionary form of calcite or silica that occurs in small rings on the surface of a fossil shell which has weathered out of its matrix. White, opaque accretions of silica found on silicified fossils or along joint surfaces as a replacement of organic matter.
