The Rocky Mount Children's Museum & Science Center will host the 2009 North Carolina Fossil Fair presented by the North Carolina Fossil Club on Saturday, November 7, 2009 from 10 am to 5 pm at the Imperial Centre for Arts and Sciences. The Fossil Fair is a free, family fun event open to the public. Experts from the Smithsonian Institution will be on site for free fossil identification and information, along with Museum Specialists and displays from The Aurora Fossil Museum, the NC Museum of Natural Sciences, the Schiele Museum of Natural History, and members of the NC Fossil Club. The Fossil Fair is a great opportunity to speak with experts and collectors, view hundreds of real fossils from around the world, and to learn about this fun, educational hobby. There will also be a fossil dig area where you can become a paleontologist for the day and uncover fossils of your own! For further information, call (252) 972-1167.
