This is probably from a late Permian site near Dunedoo, NSW. The preservation from there is very distinctive.

This tooth appears to be a deciduous tooth. All bovid deciduous cheek teeth are premolars.

Yeah I understand now. And yes you are right it is most definitely Didelphis Virginiana.

This would be Didelphis sp. not 'Opossum sp.' Opossum is the common name.
It's likely Didelphis virginiana
