In case any English-speaking members are confused, "on the gangue" is a word-for-word translation of "sur la gangue," which in French means "in matrix." "Gangue" is an English word but it is a mining/geological term for the non-valuable rock in ore that also contains a valuable mineral. This is the kind of fine point that doesn't get covered in an average, or even a rather comprehensive, bilingual dictionary because it is a gray area in usage between a technical term and a popular one.

It is a nice display specimen in any case.
