medial phalanges
Medial phalanges - middle toe bones between the ungual and the proximal toe bones - are frequently preserved as fossils. They are preserved because they are dense and poorly vascularized. Furthermore, they don't have much flesh surrounding them - not attractive meals for anything that might eat other parts of the animal.
