Eldredgeops Trilobite (phacops rana )

Size 5.9 cm length X 2.8 cm Wide

I am fairly sure it's Devonian

Glacial till in Aylmer ,Ontario

There is a story about this Trilobite, years ago I was collecting with a friend at Cat Fish Creek In Aylmer Ontario ,I found a huge rock with trace evidence of trilobites I asked for his help with taking the rock apart and said if we find a trilobite he could have it because I had a a fairly good collection of them all ready .So I used a sledge hammer to hit the boulder softly on the side ,the boulder broke into sheets ,after lifting sheet by sheet to see what was inside we were on the second last sheet and that is when I noticed a part of a large trilobite poking out of that section of rock my friend was excited and so was I, we collected for awhile then went back to my place where I used a variable speed engraver around the Trilobite to see if I could make it more visible ,when I was finished with the first Trilobite I realized that it was larger(size is 5.9 cm length by 2.8 cm wide ) and more perfectly preserved than any that I have in my collection, and that there is even a second Trilobite there as well .That is my lesson not to promise someone something before I know all about it first .I have bought the Trilobite from my friend and now everything comes full circle it is in my collection for life ,and I will never give some thing away before I see exactly the full fossil first .
