Searching Through Aurora Fossil Dirt

found some great fossils already and a few that make me say, huh? So far one little meg, a whale shark, an angel, broken squalodon and some other great finds. This one fossil i found looks almost like a fish skull or something would love to hear what your guys take is on it.

I brought home four buckets full. I went though half of one and didn't find much at all. I heard from the museum someone found a cookie cutter shark tooth.

Awesome! I need to start looking smaller as well, especially when I try to put a dentition together!

I brought home four buckets full. I went though half of one and didn't find much at all. I heard from the museum someone found a cookie cutter shark tooth.

In the years we screened more than four 5gallons buckets looking for Isistius. I know an Aurora collector that is keeping screening from 7 years searching for this elusive small shark tooth, but with no lucky :(:o

The only one I knew lucky with this teeth was Howie C. in the mine. I thing it was 2006 or 2007 in the "car pit" place :wacko:

I dont think its a tooth, its almost flat(the thickness of a coin) has no enamel. If anything its bone. Then again it could be an mold of something but to me it looks like a skull.

yes sir most are a few of the makos are from Aurora but all the megs and hemis are.

First item reminds me of a thin slice of a Walnut. Something along those lines?

Jason ill take some pictures tomorrow all of my fossils are basicly packed away right now as we get the babies room ready but ill pull some of the cases out. The mako one I was working on before I put it away so its basicly a mess right now lol.
