Lobogenys (~60x)

Acryzona

Late Ordovician scolecodont from Whitewater Formation in Indiana. Limestone sample dissolved with dilute vinegar to recover speciman. This jaw easily fits inside the zero of the date on a US penny (with room to spare!)

you might like to look for a copy of "The Journal of Paleontology " publication, 77(3),2003,pp 509-523.

"Late Ordovician Jawed Polychaete Faunas of the Type Cincinnatian Region,USA" it has a lot of the common ones pictured.

Thanks Herb. I'll pick up a copy - scolecodont taxonomy is something I'd like to get better at - but it seems pretty complicated with various revisions and name changes over the years. :)
